Passion
We feel that it is our obligation to use the experience passed down through 4 generations in the confectionery business to build a better future for this industry. We choose to put people first. If we put people first, profits will follow. Profit is required for sustainability. The greatest profit is generated when land use is maximized, when farm labor is optimized, when people are fulfilled and are living the life they were created to live. Our passion is to create an opportunity for people to flourish by providing the tools and infrastructure to operate their farms at peak performance and unlocking the maximum potential.
Cocoa Communities
Our plan is to architect a master community where all the cogs of the machine can function together and support each other. Each Cocoa Community will be made up of 12 Co-ops growing 50 ha of cocoa each owned and operated by 10 family farmers. Pivotal Cocoa will provide the design, land development, building of structures, training of farmers, seed distribution & clonal nursery, logistics system inbound & outbound, health care clinic, K-12 education system, and clean water & crop irrigation systems. The farmers will provide the labor and creative problem solving to maximize crop production.
Crop Diversity
Sustainability cannot be achieved with the risk of single crop farmer incomes. Our plan blends cash crops for export with food crops & small livestock for local nutrition and commerce. When farmers are not faced with the choice of life and death for their family, they can make better decisions for long term success. Within our communities, we can grow most of what the people need for proper nutrition. This fundamental building block will create a strong, healthy population that can spend time learning how to improve themselves, their families, & their farms, connecting with the community, protecting each other, and appreciating this amazing place we all call home. With a stable population, creativity can flourish spurred from healthy competition within the community to maximize farm level profit.
Women’s Leadership
We believe the women are the key to success for a thriving community. The foundation of family unit and the farm operation needs to be built on the natural strengths of the women in our communities; nurturing, teaching, loving, problem solving, hard working, persevering, stabilizing, all things that are required for a successful community.
